I was lucky enough to catch the Kenny Scharf mural
on Houston and Bowery. This piece has been up since December so I was convinced it was down by now but, it looked pretty crazy in person - stoked I got to see it.
Okay so I had a moment the other day... I basically blogged about artist Barry McGee a week or 2 ago and came across the re-works 2 days ago while strolling the streets of SoHo. As I previously mentioned he tagged over Shepard Fairy's piece on Bowery and Houston Street and 15 hours later got covered up.. well he was back and made shit happen once again- thankfully I was there to see and experience it all.
Artist Barry McGee took over Shepard Fairey's defaced mural location on the Bowery and Houston wall space. McGee is known for presenting works which combine traditions of street art with Mexican mural techniques.
The layer of graffiti-style word imagery went up last weekend and was covered nearly 15 hours later.
I take the owners of 294 Bowery weren't too happy with his coloring outside the lines
